About Non-Surgical Hair Restoration
At Premier Hair Restoration, we offer several different non-surgical treatments. These treatments include Regenera Activa, platelet-rich plasma, oral medications, and aftermarket topical serums from HairStim.
Regenera Activa
Regenera Activa is an advanced treatment that uses healthy, harvested hair follicles to create a specialized solution. This treatment is similar to that of platelet-rich plasma, but uses growth factors and regenerative cellular components specific to hair. Dr. O’Dea performs this treatment by harvesting a small number of hair follicles from the back of the scalp before processing them through the Regenera Activa system. He will then inject the solution into various areas of the scalp, targeting the same depth as the hair follicles around the treatment area.
Platelet-Rich Plasma
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a treatment that uses a concentrated solution of platelets taken from a sample of your blood. These platelets can promote the formation of new blood vessels and increase hair density in patients (1)
This treatment begins by drawing a sample of your blood. The sample will then be processed to separate the red blood cells from the other cellular components. Dr. O’Dea will inject the serum around the scalp. After injection, the platelets release growth factors within 10 minutes of being activated, with over 95% of the presynthesized growth factors being secreted within the first hour. (2)
Oral Medications
Prescription oral medications, such as finasteride and oral minoxidil, can help manage certain types of hair loss. Finasteride works byinhibiting the hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which contributes to hair follicle shrinkage in androgenetic alopecia. Oral minoxidil promotes hair growth by increasing blood flow and prolonging the growth (anagen) phase of hair follicles. Patients typically use these medications long-term, as they help slow further hair loss and encourage regrowth while addressing underlying hormonal or vascular factors that contribute to thinning.
HairStim Topical Serums
HairStim Topical Serums are compounded topical solutions that are custom-tailored to address your specific hair loss concerns. This treatment consists of various combinations of minoxidil, finasteride, dutasteride, and lantanaprost, four medications that are thought to have beneficial effects on hair growth and loss prevention. Dr. O’Dea will evaluate your medical history and scalp to determine the root cause of your hair loss. From there, he will create a customized solution for you that is completely tailored to your goals.

Results
Many patients experience initial growth approximately three to four months after beginning their treatment, with the full results developing after 12-18 months. With these treatments, patients often experience thicker and denser hair growth in areas that may have been previously thinning.
Once hair grows, you will be able to style, cut, and wear it as you please. The results of our non-surgical hair restoration treatments can vary, with results lasting between several months and a year. However, you may want to consider returning for maintenance appointments in the future to preserve the effects of your treatment.
